BNI History

Introduction
BNI Solutions LLC (BNI) designs, manufactures and integrates networking solutions for video and data applications.

The company's newest product named PowerPlay™ provides full motion, multipoint video conferencing with data collaboration and device control over any IP-based network.

BNI is based in State College, PA and has technical and sales people located across the country. The company is an owned subsidiary of Numerex Technologies, which is a provider of solutions for a wide variety of communication applications. Numerex is a public company and is traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol (NMRX).

Early Days - Analog Video Systems
BNI was founded in 1986 to provide products for the broadband LAN market, which in those days was defined by analog transmission devices that worked over coaxial cable.

In 1991, BNI entered the distance learning market via the Indianapolis Project. BNI products were used by Ameritech to interconnect all 90 schools of the Indianapolis Public School System with multichannel outbound (16) and multichannel inbound (4) video capability at each location. In addition, forty-two of the ninety locations used the system for 10 Mbps Ethernet networking.

In the course of this effort, BNI developed a comprehensive line of products for interactive video applications, including:

1998 to Present - Data Networks
By the end of 1997, BNI had established an excellent reputation as a provider of interactive video distribution systems with more than 1500 sites connected in individual networks all over the U.S. At the same time, the primary need of the company's target customer group was to establish wide area networks for the delivery of a high speed data service between all sites in a school district, municipality or on a campus.

BNI began to provide a turnkey solution for high speed Ethernet data networking, which was again marketed in partnership with fiber providers who supplied the physical infrastructure to interconnect sites.

The Development & Introduction of PowerPlay™
BNI's historical offering and expertise is in providing turnkey solutions for interactive video applications. In 1998, the company expanded its offerings by providing turnkey solutions for high speed data networking. PowerPlay™ combines these two capabilities by providing a video conferencing solution that can be delivered over any IP-based data network.

The PowerPlay solution reflects the combined video and data expertise of BNI. BNI's data engineers complete a detailed assessment of a network prior to the installation of PowerPlay hardware to assure that the network is configured properly to deliver all of the services required, including PowerPlay. Also, BNI video engineers work with the customer to assure that room configuration issues (lighting, audio, peripheral location, etc.) are all considered and addressed.

Summary
BNI has a staff of video and data professionals that have a long track record of providing superior technical solutions on a turnkey basis. PowerPlay™ is the latest and most exciting product offering of the company and provides superior video and audio capability for multi-participant video conferencing. BNI has in-depth knowledge of high speed networks and is committed to providing a superior level of expertise and service to its customers.
